Real Sweet 15 (Quinceanera) - Krystal's Birthday Candy Buffet - Estrella Vista Reception Center - Avondale, Arizona

Krystal was getting ready to celebrate her Sweet 15/Quinceanera Party at the Estrella Vista Reception Center in Avondale, Arizona and just had to have a sweet candy buffet. Her aunt, Angelica knew we were a fabulous company and could make magical things happen (we set up a fabulous display for her wedding a few years before). A few phone calls later, and Krystal's candy buffet filled with her favorite sweets was in the works!

The Details

Krystal had so many favorite candies that it was hard to narrow it down to the few special treats on the table! Her guests (and her very large, happy family) enjoyed Dum Dum Lollipops, peanut M&M's, peach gummy rings, Kit Kat bars and marzipan treats! To add a bit of glitz and glam, guests took home treats in metallic silver Chinese take-out boxes. The table was decorated with a gorgeous silver rosette table linen and loads of rhinestone candle holders.

The Details

Michelle & Andrew chose a few classic candies and a few fun candies to complete their vision. Guests were able to select chocolate or yogurt covered pretzels, strawberry or pina colada gummy bears, Trolli Strawberry Puffs, watermelon rings and pink and gray sixlets (these are delicious! Floating candles, silver votives and a fun sign completed the table.

Real Wedding - Angie & Alex's Wedding Candy Buffet - Carefree Resort & Conference Center - Carefree, Arizona

Angie & Alex fell in love in the west and they wanted the feeling of the original wild west to be an accent in their wedding. This is the first time we have ever been asked to create a western themed candy buffet and I think we nailed it!

At first glance there isn't much to this candy buffet, but you have to look at the details and know their story. Check out the silver star (and there are more on the back side of the mason jar treat container tags), this represents Alex's love of the Dallas Cowboys. Look close and find the antlers and shotgun shells - they represent the couple's love of the outdoors and their mutual hobby of hunting. Straw bales, lassos and fun bunting tie the western theme together. Notice the artwork in the background, a gorgeous piece hanging in the historic opera room at the Carefree Resort and Conference Center

Guests to this mid day wedding were treated to hard candy sticks, yogurt pretzels. licorice, swirl lollipops, dark and milk chocolate Hershey's kisses and milk chocolates in pink. Guest treat containers were mason jars with custom tags designed by Sweet I Do's.

Real Party - Talitha's End Of Summer Fire and Ice Party - Mesa, Arizona

Talitha throws the most epic end of summer parties ever! We've been honored to set up candy buffets for her for two years in a row and this one had to have been the best yet (there were fire dancers at the party)!!!

Her guests enjoyed fun candies that fit the theme of fire and ice including Hot Tamales, milk chocolates, cherry sours, cinnamon discs and the returning favorite Rice Krispie treats. Guests took home their goodies in fun red and black organza treat bags with custom tags.

Real Wedding - Arica & Phillip's Wedding Candy Buffet - 12 West Main - Mesa, Arizona

Arica and Preston braved the heat of an Arizona summer and got married a a super cute little venue called 12 West Main, a contemporary industrial feeling venue tucked away in downtown Mesa.

Their candy buffet was full of elegant black, white and red candies and included such fun favorites as red and black licorice, milk chocolates gems, Hershey's kisses, LifeSaver Pepp-o-Mints, yogurt pretzels and our favorite hand dipped white chocolate Oreo's.

Guests took their treats home in black Chinese take out boxes with a custom red bracket label designed by Sweet I Do's.

Real Wedding - Marissa & Preston - Los Abrigados Resort and Spa - Sedona, Arizona

Marissa and Preston had been friends since childhood, growing up together almost like family. They dated, decided it wasn't in the cards and they moved on. When they were younger, they never imagined they would get married, until that fateful day when Preston quit his job and showed up on Marissa's doorstep. They've been inseparable since and on a gorgeous day in May, they said their "I do's" in front of their closest family members and friends.

They both always wanted an outdoor wedding and Sedona was the perfect spot to combine their love of gorgeous scenery and a semi-destination wedding that their family could attend easily (and get out of the Phoenix heat). With many amazing venues to choose from in Sedona, Marissa and Preston ultimately chose the fabulous Los Abrigados Resort and Spa

Even though the wind was a little fierce, we had a creekside wedding ceremony and reception that was everything they dreamed of and more. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by the on-site chef for the resort and then danced the night away with music provided by Brad with All Pro DJ. Marissa and Preston arranged to have a scrumptious dessert and popcorn bar provided by Sweet I Do's and super cute photo booth pictures provided by ETC. Entertainment.

Marissa's sister missed her senior prom to watch her big sis get married, so we had a little fun crowning her prom queen at the wedding and Marissa gave her a sweet Pandora charm to commemorate the night.

We may or may not have had a little fun with some sparklers at some point during the night (shh! don't tell Los Abrigados).

Real Bridal Shower - Sweet Shabby Chic Bridal Shower Candy Buffet Queen Creek, Arizona

When a fellow industry professional asks you to design an amazing candy buffet for her best friends bridal shower, you say "Yes!!! I can't wait!".

Kaitlin, Events and Catering Manager for the amazing San Tan Brewery asked us to create a shabby chic candy buffet for her best friends bridal shower to be held on a gorgeous day in May. She wanted some fabulous flowers, loads of details and of course delicious candy!

Guests of the shower enjoyed yogurt covered pretzels (one of our favs), cherry rock candy strings (for a little bit of bling), sixlets and milk chocolate gems in the showers color scheme of silver and pink. Add amazing jelly jars with custom tags as the treat container for guests to take home and a gorgeous vintage desk as the display table and, the result, as you can see, one fabulous candy buffet!

Real Wedding - Anna & PJ's Wedding Candy Buffet - Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort Phoenix, Arizona

Anna and PJ got married on a lovely day in that Arizona season between spring and summer (you know the one, where it can be cold one day, hot the next and gorgeous the day after that) at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix.

For their wedding day candy buffet they chose candies that complimented their colors, but were also some of their favorite candies. Guests enjoyed strawberry puffs, Brach's nuggat candies, pina colada Jelly Bellies, Big Hunk candy bars, strawberry Tootsie Frootsies and pink swirl lollipops.  Guest treat containers were pretty in pink and sparkling silver organza bags with custom tags designed just for our sweet couple.

Sweet Endings to Amazing Weddings & Events

The concept of offering a favor or thank you to guests that attend your event originating sometime in the 16th century when households would create amazing displays of confectionery delights to give to their guests. Sugar was the primary ingredient, as it was considered a mark of wealth, especially when used in a non-ordinary meal.

Favors have evolved from these displays of “wealth” to anything from CD’s of personal song favorites (no longer the popular choice since obtaining the copyrights to all of those songs is virtually impossible) to personalized chochkeeies (no longer a popular choice as most guests don’t want something with your name and wedding date on it) to the strange such as beer koozies.

Lately, we have seen a throwback to the culinary favors that are fully edible either the night of the event or to take home and enjoy within a short period of time after the event. Some of our favorites double as a late night snack to sustain guests for the night of dancing.

 Cake Pops

Cute bite sized portions of cake complete with frosting, cake pops can be made in a variety of flavors and colors and can be served as part of the dessert course or wrapped in cellophane and given to take home and enjoy on the drive.

Latest trend – using cake pops as escort cards.

Custom Lollipops

Available in tons of flavor and color combinations, a custom lollipop can be made in sizes that range from 1” up to the gigantic size of 9"!! We love being able to customize most flavors to any color to coordinate with most event’s color schemes and still be a flavor loved by almost everyone.

Latest trend – using lollipops as save the dates.

Cupcakes

Used in beautiful displays and as a fun and whimsical alternative to the traditional cake, cupcakes are taking the event scene by storm.  Available in a variety of flavors from the traditional chocolate to the untraditional bacon maple pancake, cupcakes provide just the right amount of deliciousness for everyone.

Latest trend – having a traditional top layer of cake to cut and cupcakes for guests.

Mini Pies

Still a sleeper favor, mini pies and pies on a stick are being to appear on the event scene, especially those events that have a rustic or outdoor theme.

Latest trend – allowing guests to choose a flavor at the time they RSVP to have ready at the event.

Cookies

Cookies have been making slow but steady in roads into the realm of edible favors. Cookie bars work especially well for people that don’t have a particular fondness for cakes and the traditional desserts. Because they can be made in smaller quantities, cookie bars also lend themselves well to special dietary considerations.

Latest trend – prepackaged variety boxes of bite sized favorites.

Individual Desserts

The possibilities are endless when you select to provide individual desserts to your guests. Anything goes from fresh fruit tartlets to mini cheesecakes to muffins and chocolate covered strawberries. A good balance for the table is essential, so choose carefully when creating an individual dessert table for your guests.

Latest trend – bringing out the dessert table halfway through the reception to allow guests to refuel and continue into the night.

Shortcakes

A relative unknown to the favor world, shortcake bars are a unique and beautiful addition to any event. Handmade shortcakes coupled with fresh fruit and sweet whipped cream, shortcake bars allow each guest to select their favorite combinations and enjoy a sweet reminder of long summers and lazy days.

Latest trend – offering guests the ability to select and then package their favorites to take home.

Frozen Yogurt

Seemingly overnight, the world was populated by self-serve frozen yogurt shops. Bring a little of this phenomenon to your event by offering a few frozen yogurt flavors and a variety of toppings, bottomings and in-betweenings.

Latest trend – prepackaged custom flavors designed by you!

S’Mores

A reminder of summer nights spent camping under the stars, smore’s bring sticky smiles to all of your guests. This favor option is best accomplished by having a designated attendant at the setup to aid in the creation of these sweet bites and to keep an eye on the heat source.

Latest trend – create a take home version with a graham cracker, chocolate bar and marshmallow with instruction on how to create a microwave version of this perennial favorite.

Custom gourmet popcorn/trail mix

For an amazing non-sugar option, allow your guest to create their own flavored popcorn or trail mix. Provide a cute personalized bag and tons of options, a quick set of directions on how to create the mix and let your guests go to it.

Latest trend – provide a couple of “recipes” for favorite combinations and have guests vote on the best selection.
